Foreclosure Tuesday:

In Georgia, where I practice law, the first Tuesday of each month is "Foreclosure Tuesday". In every county in Georgia, if you go to your county courthouse on the first Tuesday of the month, you can go and watch foreclosures take place. Foreclosures for January 2011 will occur on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. WARNING: If you are in the process of a loan modification, keep in mind that a loan modification does not halt, stop or slow down the foreclosure process UNLESS you have something in writing from the bank that your foreclosure has been halted. For most people, this means that until your loan is approved for a modification, your home is subject to the foreclosure process.
